What we do
Comprehensive planning,
across all of life's stages
Financial planning is not just
about investments. It
is about making sure every part of your financial life works
together - and that you
understand why each recommendation was made. Our services fall
into four areas, and most
clients draw on more than one.
Wealth
Building it, structuring it, keeping it. The money side of the plan - what
you own, how it grows, what it costs you in tax, and how it passes on.
01
Investments
A portfolio should be the output of a plan,
not the starting point. We begin with what the money is
actually for, then build the mandate around it.
- Documented risk profile and investment mandate
before any product is selected
- Portfolio construction across local and offshore
exposure, using published fund fact sheets in
the correct share class and platform
- Performance reported on a time-weighted basis, with
money-weighted (IRR) shown alongside so you can
see both what the portfolio did and what your
timing did
- Full disclosure of platform, fund and advice fees
before you commit
- Ongoing monitoring, with formal written portfolio
reviews
02
Wealth Planning
Most financial problems are not caused by a
bad product. They are caused by good products that were
never made to work together.
- A full financial needs analysis - what you own, owe,
earn and are covered for
- Goals mapped to time horizons, so short and long
money are not treated the same
- Investments, tax, risk, retirement and estate
coordinated as one plan rather than five
separate decisions
- A written plan you keep, reviewed formally and
updated as your life changes
- One ongoing advice fee across the whole picture - no
billing per service
03
Estate Planning
Most estate problems are not caused by bad
intentions. They are caused by documents that were never
updated.
- Wills drafted, reviewed and kept current as your
circumstances change
- Beneficiary nominations checked across every policy
and retirement fund - these are not governed by
your will
- Estate duty, executor fee and liquidity estimates so
your family is not forced to sell assets to
settle costs
- Trust and company structures where they genuinely
serve a purpose, and honest advice when they do
not
- Coordination with your attorney and accountant where
a matter needs them
04
Life Cover
Your ability to earn is usually your largest
asset. It is also the one most people leave uninsured.
- Life, disability, severe illness and income
protection cover, sized to an actual needs
analysis
- Audit of existing policies - what you hold, what it
costs, and whether it still fits the life you
have now
- Business assurance: buy-and-sell agreements, key
person cover and contingent liability
- Cover structured with the estate in mind, so
proceeds land where they are meant to
- Claims support when it matters, so you are not
navigating a claim alone
05
Retirement Planning
The question is not only how much you have,
but how long it lasts and what it costs you in tax along
the way.
- Retirement funding gap analysis - what you are on
track for versus what you need
- Contribution and tax-deduction planning within the
section 11F limits
- Structuring across retirement annuities,
preservation funds and endowments
- At-retirement decisions: living annuity versus
guaranteed annuity, and the trade-offs in each
direction
- Drawdown rate strategy, stress-tested for
sustainability across a range of return
assumptions
06
Tax Planning
Tax is not a separate exercise done in
February. It is a consequence of decisions made all
year, and it can be planned for.
- Retirement contributions structured within the
section 11F deduction limits
- Tax-free savings, endowments and unit trusts
compared on after-tax outcome rather than
headline return
- Capital gains consequences considered before
rebalancing, not after
- Interest and dividend exemptions used deliberately
across a household
- Estate duty and capital gains tax at death modelled
together, since they interact
07
Legal
Financial decisions have legal consequences.
Having that expertise in the room changes what gets
recommended.
- Wills and testamentary trust structures
- Trust deeds, company structuring and shareholder
agreements
- Contract review and interpretation where a financial
decision turns on the wording
- Negotiation and dispute resolution support
- Referral to and coordination with attorneys where a
matter needs formal representation
Health
Cover for you and your family. The right healthcare cover should protect more
than your access to treatment - it should also help protect your
finances when illness or injury occurs. We help you choose appropriate
medical scheme cover and identify where additional protection may be
needed for you and your family.
08
Health Cover
Your healthcare needs change. Your cover
should change with them.
Medical scheme options are often selected once and then
carried forward year after year, even as families,
health needs, benefits and costs change.
We review your cover to help ensure that the option you
choose remains appropriate for your circumstances,
healthcare needs and budget.
09
Gap Cover
Medical scheme cover does not always mean
every medical bill is covered in full.
Specialists and other healthcare providers may charge more
than the amount reimbursed by your medical scheme,
leaving you responsible for the difference.
Gap cover can provide additional protection against certain
eligible shortfalls and related expenses, subject to the
terms and limits of the policy.
10
Medical Insurance
Not all healthcare products provide the same
protection.
Medical schemes and health insurance policies are regulated
differently, structured differently and provide
different benefits.
We help you understand those differences so that you know
exactly what your cover is designed to provide - and,
just as importantly, what it does not.
Short-term
Insuring what you have built. Your home, vehicles and business assets
represent years of investment. We help ensure they are properly valued,
appropriately insured and regularly reviewed as your circumstances,
assets and risks change.
11
Personal Lines
The right cover today may not be the right
cover tomorrow.
Homes are improved, vehicles change, valuables are acquired
and lifestyles evolve - while insurance policies are
often left unchanged.
We review your cover to help identify gaps, outdated values
and unnecessary exposure before a claim puts them to the
test.
12
Commercial Lines
Every business has risks that standard cover
may not fully address.
Property, vehicles, equipment, liability, business
interruption and operational exposures all require
careful consideration.
We help identify the risks your business actually faces and
structure cover around those risks - so that your
insurance reflects the business you have built.
Employee Benefits
Looking after your people. Protecting their future. Retirement and risk
benefits are more than employee benefits - they are part of the
financial security you provide to your people and their families. We
help employers design, implement and manage employee benefit
arrangements that work, supported by effective administration, sound
governance and clear member communication.
13
Administration Services
Good benefits depend on good administration.
Contributions, member records, claims, exits, benefit
statements and ongoing fund processes all need to work
accurately and on time.
We help keep the detail under control so that employers,
members and providers remain aligned.
14
Risk Benefits
Cover should evolve as your workforce evolves.
Group life, disability, income protection and other insured
benefits should not simply be put in place and
forgotten.
We regularly review structure, cover, cost and suitability to
help ensure that the benefits remain relevant to your
employees and sustainable for your business.
15
Retirement Fund Solutions
The right retirement fund structure matters.
Umbrella funds and standalone funds offer different levels of
cost, control, governance and flexibility.
We help employers assess the alternatives and select a
structure that fits their workforce, objectives and
responsibilities.
16
Manco Support
Good governance requires active oversight.
Management committee responsibilities do not disappear simply
because they are overlooked.
We support management committees with governance, meetings,
reporting, benefit reviews, provider engagement and the
information needed to make properly informed decisions.
17
Member Communication
A benefit only has value when employees
understand it.
Employees need to know what they have, how it works and what
it means for them and their families.
Clear, practical communication turns employee benefits from
an unseen cost into a benefit employees can recognise,
understand and value.
